Rodrigo del Castillo

I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where my early travels across the Andes and Amazon with my family sparked a deep curiosity and love for exploration. During my teenage years, I moved to Florida, where I played chess competitively and developed a lifelong love of the game. Returning to Lima for college, I earned a degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Lima, while also pursuing interests in rowing and Muay Thai. My passion for adventure led me to the Amazon jungle, where I developed a successful eco-tourism project in collaboration with native communities, designing experiences that balanced sustainability, logistics, and exploration.

In 2020, I pivoted into education, launching a thriving chess academy for children and expanding into history instruction—a lifelong passion. Today, I teach history at multiple schools, deliver independent presentations, and have founded a primary school. My unconventional path as an educator focuses on making learning fun and engaging, fostering curiosity, and encouraging students to explore knowledge through adventure and play.
