PERFECT FOR:

This adventure is designed for young historians, geologists, chemists, and hands-on learners ages 8-15, who are eager to dig deep—both literally and figuratively—into the past.

  • In the heart of the Mediterranean, off Italy’s western coast, lies Sardinia—an island where ancient civilizations, rugged landscapes, and scientific discovery collide. Towering stone fortresses rise from the hills, mysterious underground caves wind beneath our feet, and remnants of ancient mining sites tell the story of the Nuragic civilization, one of the Mediterranean’s most enigmatic Bronze Age cultures. Over our five-week immersive learning adventure, young explorers will uncover how history, chemistry, and geology are deeply intertwined, shaping both past civilizations and the modern world.

  • From the moment we arrive, we’ll set out on an archaeological and scientific quest, venturing into ancient stone villages, mineral-rich caves, and historic mines to uncover the secrets of Sardinia’s past. We’ll explore how the Nuragic people extracted, refined, and traded metals to forge tools, weapons, and intricate artifacts. Through hands-on metalworking and forging workshops, we’ll bring these ancient techniques to life, connecting chemistry with craftsmanship in ways that spark curiosity and creativity.

  • History, science, and adventure come together in this dynamic learning experience, tailored to engage different age groups throughout the day. Whether analyzing the mineral composition of ancient ore, experimenting with smelting techniques, or piecing together the rise and fall of Sardinia’s Bronze Age civilizations, each day will be packed with discovery and hands-on exploration.

The course will culminate in a Final showcase where students will present their findings in a creative and engaging format.

It's worth requesting long-stay discounts from hosts—even on Airbnb—before booking, as many are happy to offer them.
