-
Set in the Galápagos Islands of Ecuador — one of the world's most extraordinary natural laboratories — Evolution Explorers is a four-week, place-based learning adventure in which students investigate evolution, ecology, and conservation in the very place that reshaped our understanding of life on Earth. Learning takes place aboard a live-aboard expedition vessel and across the islands of Isabela, Santa Cruz, and San Cristóbal.
Through snorkeling, hiking, wildlife observation, and hands-on field investigations — plus scuba diving for certified students — young explorers study natural selection, adaptation, island geology, and marine ecology firsthand, all while keeping their own scientific field journals. The program is designed for two age groups, 8–10 and 11–14.
The program runs four days per week: two classroom-based days and two field-based learning days. Students also receive approximately two hours of Spanish language instruction and two hours of math tutorials each week.
-
Over our four-week expedition, we'll connect evolution, adaptation, island geology, and marine ecology with conservation and real scientific fieldwork to ignite curiosity and wonder.
-
The expedition culminates in a naturalist's field-journal showcase, where students present the observations, data, and discoveries they've gathered across the islands.
